At OnAMap, we're helping people explore the world by connecting everyone through their personal interests, hobbies, unique experiences and expertise.
This isn't your clichéd, typical job listing where we saying we're looking for a "rock star," a "self-starter," or "someone who thinks outside of the box." We're looking for people who want – no, have – to work somewhere they truly feel passionate about. (I may not be the founder of that mantra, but I am most definitely a client. Here's proof how I am following my heart.)
Everyone involved with OnAMap believes in what we're doing. If you're talented and passionate, we'll find a place for you. One of my favorite books about Silicon Valley is PayPal Wars by Eric M. Jackson. Peter Thiel didn't just fill positions, he found talented people and made a place for them.
I'm not going to say we need "excellent writing skills, grammar, 5+ years experience with Ruby on Rails, or a Stanford GSB degree," but I will say that if you're talented, motivated, passionate, and have anywhere from 5 to 60 hours a week, we'll find a place for you.
To quote from my favorite movie, Jerry Maguire:
"If anybody else wants to come with me, this moment will be the ground floor of something real and fun and inspiring and true in this godforsaken business and we will do it together! Who's coming with me besides... "Flipper" here?"
Well, Renee Zellwegger went with him. And you know what happened? They got married. They got married...
I'm not saying we're going to get married, but we can be each other's ambassadors of kwan. That moment where Jerry hugs Rod Tidwell at the end? They're more than just business colleagues, they're family. That's real. This company is real.
